It all started back in 1972 in North Miami when Tony opened his First place.

1989

Reported by the Los Angeles Times – The 5th Annual Celebrity Rib-Eating Contest was held on September 24, 1989 at Tony Roma's, Universal City and netted $20,000. Proceeds went to the Starlight Foundation of Southern California.

2001

David Smith, the original chef, retired on July 2, 2001. He was the chef that created many of the signature dishes for Tony Roma's, including our world famous baby back ribs.

2003

We may have lost the man, but we'll never lose his name and legacy. Tony Roma passed away on June 13, 2003.

2006

Opening the first restaurant in Sunway Pyramid, Malaysia.

2013

TR Malaysia created the Lamb Ribs, winning the Brand Innovation Award.

2014

Developer of the Year – The 1st International Franchise to open 4 outlets in a calendar year – Citta Mall Ara Damansara, Nu Sentral KL, KOMTAR JBCC Johor Bahru and IOI City Mall Putrajaya.

2014

Appointed training centre for Asia Pacific Region.

2016

Opening first restaurant in Melaka at Mahkota Parade and second restaurants in Johor, AEON MALL Tebrau City.

2017

New Restaurant Opening at Melawati Mall.

2023
